
James (Jim) M. Norman
Board Member
James (Jim) M. Norman brings more than five decades of leadership experience in real estate, strategic planning, and nonprofit governance to the WhidbeyHealth Foundation Board. Over the course of his career, Jim founded and led one of the Pacific Northwest’s premier real estate advisory firms, advising major healthcare, educational, and public institutions including Providence Health System, Virginia Mason Medical Center, the University of Washington, and Seattle School District. His work has consistently focused on aligning complex organizations with long-term strategy, accountability, and sustainable growth.
In addition to his professional career, Jim has devoted decades to community and philanthropic leadership, with a particular emphasis on healthcare and public benefit organizations. He served on the Board of Trustees of the Pacific Northwest Diabetes Research Institute for a decade, including two years as Board Chair, and has held leadership roles with The Nature Conservancy of Washington, Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Central Washington University Foundation, and numerous other civic and nonprofit organizations. His governance experience spans strategic planning, development, executive leadership, and organizational stewardship.
Jim joined the WhidbeyHealth Foundation Board after recognizing the organization’s clear vision and commitment to strengthening access to high-quality healthcare for the community. Drawing on his background in healthcare governance and institutional leadership, he is dedicated to supporting the Foundation’s mission through philanthropy, advocacy, and partnership—helping build community trust, empower healthcare professionals, and ensure WhidbeyHealth continues to meet the evolving needs of those it serves.
